The COSTA BRAVA is located at the spanish mediterranian coast. There, in the Bay of ROSES, at the foothills of the Pyrenees you find EMPURIABRAVA, europe´s unique marina with ca. 40 km navigable saltwater canals. On both sides of the canals are villas with their own moorings attached to the property. Over 50 years ago this holiday paradise has been created following the example of Florida as a district of CASTELLO DE EMPURIES. (former capital of the earldom EMPURIES ).

EMPURIABRAVA is easily accessible from germany and other european countries by direct and continous motorway connection. ( Frankfurt 1200 km / Munich 1350 km / Stuttgart 1100 km ).

As Ryan Air offers cheap flights from nearly all over europe to Gerona, it makes it very interesting even to book short trips. A choice of airports are nearby – like Gerona 55 km, Perpignan (F) 80 km and Barcelona 130 km.

Additional you have the possibility to travel by cartrain to Narbonne, or by train or europebus to Figueres.

There are offers like Yacht marinas with petrol station, slipways, boatcranes, big shipyards, internacional repair service, agencies of the world´s most known boat brands, boatfair at easter and much more.
Here you have a fantastic district for watersports of any kind, wonderful bays with cristal clear water – the uncomparable COSTA BRAVA.
To have one of the over 5000 moorings directly at the terrasse of the property in connection of the ideal conditions for sailing, surfing and boating is the best you can imagine here in the sunny south.

Aswell for “non water sportlers “ there are numerous opportunities how to spend your free time. The most relaxing one is “sunbathing” on the over 2 km long and up to 200 meter wide sandbeach, which every year gets the “Blue Flag Award “ for its cleanliness and safety.

Ideal for infants and children, the huge beaches of the Bay of Roses became the most popular ones for families, as there is a save, shallow entry to the sea and beachcontrol by the Red Cross.

There are numerous offers for your leisure time like:
All kinds of watersports, horse riding, roundtrips by plane, sky diving, crazy golf, biking, organised day trips, the famous Dali-museum, Andorra springs, fishing, hiking ( for example to the nature reserve “AIGUAMOLLS” which is far away from any noise and disturbances).
Aswell you can do paragliding or  look at the beautiful envoirement from a light aeroplane.
For the fast ones of you there are Go-Cart raicing tracks. On the other hand you can treat yourself in one of the wellness oasises or fitness centres.

Very pretty golfcourses you find nearby Perelada or Torremirona. A “Pitch and Putt” to golfecourse standards is located in Castelló de Empuries.

Exellent conditions for hiking or skiing offer the nearby Pyrenees ( ca. 90 min.by car )

Nightlife has a lot for you to offer. There are typical catalan bars and restaurants, international cuisine, if you want to be “sure”, discotheques for every taste – open air, western style, chaotic, hyper modern and respectable for the upper class market. You can dance until the early morning, or visit the night cabaret for a change.

Empuriabrava has got an exellent infrastructure with an interesting, historical background. You find areas of quiet, luxury villas, busy shopping miles with lots of supermarkets ( down to ALDI and LIDL ), banks, boutiques, pharmacies, butchers, bakeries, exellent doctors speaking different languages, veterenarians, travel agencies, newspaper shops, massage practices, rent a boat, rent a bike, diving schools and restaurants of all categories.

Get fascinated by the beauty of the “wild coast” ( COSTA BRAVA ). Spectacular coastlines with the permanent presence of the Pyrenees, small bays and long sandy beaches, medieval villages in the surrounding area of the Empordá, the pretty provincial capital Gerona, Barcelona and many cultural and historical sights are waiting to be explored by you.

Dali was born in the nearby town of Figueres and moved from there to the neighbouring town of  Cadaqués. All his life was influenced by this area and to visit the museum in Figueres is an absolutely must. Empuriabrava´s outskirts aswell have a lot to offer. From golfing to hiking to the monastery of San Pere de Rhodes – fascination never ends.
